For Lynnwood City Council 2025
Platform
As a candidate for City Council, I’m committed to making Lynnwood a safer, stronger, and more vibrant community where every resident has the opportunity to thrive. I believe in fostering a city that prioritizes public safety, economic growth, and accessible opportunities in arts, education, and entertainment—ensuring that everyone benefits, regardless of background, income, or neighborhood. Here’s my vision for Lynnwood’s future:
Expanding First Responder's Training
Ensuring the safety of our community requires a proactive approach to emergency preparedness. As a candidate for Lynnwood City Council, I will advocate for increased training opportunities for first responders.
One key initiative is implementing large-scale emergency response exercises, including active shooter training at schools and Alderwood Mall. These coordinated drills will bring together police, fire departments, and security personnel from Lynnwood and surrounding cities, enhancing communication, response times, and overall preparedness in the event of a crisis. By working collaboratively with neighboring law enforcement agencies, we can create a regional approach to emergency response that ensures a swift and effective reaction to any threat.
By prioritizing comprehensive, multi-agency training programs, we can create a safer environment for residents, businesses, and visitors while ensuring that our first responders are equipped to handle any emergency with precision and efficiency.
Restore the School Resource Officer program in Lynnwood schools
In 2017, the city commissioned a study on Lynnwood Police and Detention, which recommended the addition of at least one to two School Resource Officers (SROs).
According to the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO), mission statement reads that “The goals of well-founded SRO programs include providng safe learning environments in our nation’s schools, providing valuable resources to school staff members, fostering positive relationships with youth, developing strategies to resolve problems affecting youth and protecting all students, so that they can reach their fullest potentials.”
Restoring SROs is a crucial step in creating a safer environment for our students and community.
Promoting Arts & Entertainment
As a candidate for Lynnwood City Council, I am committed to enhancing our city's arts and entertainment landscape. A thriving arts and entertainment scene not only enriches our community’s culture but also drives economic growth and creates spaces for connection and expression.
I will advocate for increased support for local artists, live performances, cultural festivals, and entertainment venues that bring our community together. Additionally, I will work to expand opportunities for public art installations, creative spaces, and events that celebrate Lynnwood’s diversity and talent.
By prioritizing arts and entertainment, we can create a vibrant city where residents and visitors alike can experience creativity, inspiration, and joy.
